Blooming in May

Can we say HIATUS

I’ve been quite and mostly because May was so much for me.

  • Trip to Cali

  • Honoring mothers

  • Celebrations

  • New beginnings

  • Still processing…

A mash-up of life happenings:

  • Met Criminal Justice Attorney, San Francisco law professor Lara Bazelon. The bad ass mom and author of Ambitious Like a Mother the book I’m in.

  • Ran the Twin Cities Women Run the Cities 5K with some dope people.

  • Hung out with family and friends.

  • Received an abundance of accolades on my MN Women’s Press piece (see below)

  • Read my piece aloud and dialogued with some of my most cherished friends.

  • My kid at 4 years old learned to ride a bike, no training wheels (I’m not crying, you are)

Life has been plenty of highs and lows for emotions given particularly Buffalo, NY and Uvalde, TX tragedies. It’s also two years since the murder of George Floyd so hearts are big and heavy.

For all that continues to rob the world of joy, safety, and peace, I’m holding precious, I’m taking care in each moment, each blessing, each chance to breathe again.

Thoughts I’ve been pondering:

  • Heliophilia means an attraction to sunlight. Sunflowers are notorious for this level of attraction.

  • Rainbows come from the backs of raindrops.

  • Kendrick Lamar’s song N95 (Youtube video)

Accolades from my MN Women’s Press article:
